Meet the Carnes', two humans that are oh so special to me! Although I've had the privilege to be Calvin and Melissa's Photographer, the greater privilege is being their friend. I am so excited to share a little about their day with you!
On the morning of June 15th, a rain storm was BREWING. Not just any storm, but a mountain storm. Which, if you've been to the mountains, you know how crazy the weather can be. But, Mother Nature must have owed these two a favour because lucky for them, it changed in the blink of an eye! The low hanging, deep grey clouds cleared and the sun even peeped out over the mountains for a short while. Their day was memorable and so full of love!
GETTING READY
The ladies sipped mimosa's and chatted with excitement while getting pampered at the Trademark Salon, nestled in the core of Jasper, AB.
The men got ready at Pyramid Lake Resort over casual drinks and the best looking food!
And, of course Calvin saved time to shine up his classic car for the drive off with his soon-to-be wife!
Calvin and Melissa started their afternoon by sharing a first look with one another and their VIP wedding guest (their dog, Hobbes) on the beautiful bridge to Pyramid Island. The first time Calvin laid his eyes on Melissa in her dress, he just about jumped out of his shoes he was so blown away. I mean look at her! Can you blame him?
PRIVATE VOWS
In my opinion, the most romantic touch to this stunning wedding day! Calvin and Melissa shared private vows (and maybe a few happy tears) with one another as an official start to their forever!
Thank goodness for auto focus because my eyes were FULL listening to these two promise each other their unconditional love. Like was someone cutting onions on that island?
Okay, maybe there was some laughing too!
THE "I DO'S"
With a little rearranging of plans due to weather, The Carnes' held their ceremony indoors at Pyramid Lake Resort. The space was so intimate and cozy, creating the perfect mountain wedding vibes!
Shortly after the ceremony, guests enjoyed an amazing cocktail hour while the newly weds enjoyed a moment alone and some photos with their loved ones. This reception was TO DIE FOR. Like seriously, Melissa planned every detail so amazingly!
The rest of the night was spent, dancing, laughing and making the best memories!
An epic sparkler exit to end the night off? Oh count me in! This wedding was one for the books and I am SO glad to have been there for their special day!
